I love this photo. This is the latest iteration of the self-help book, The Three Levels of Self-Awareness. In the past I’ve talked about how a person’s level of self-awareness has a direct impact on how they think and act. I like this recent version of the book because it includes a list of the “three levels” of self-awareness and then I provide links to articles as to why each level is important to working with as an entrepreneur.
As a self-aware entrepreneur, you should be constantly aware of your internal biases. You should be aware of the things you can do to improve your chances of not getting burned again. Then, when you’re not actively doing those things, you should be aware of the actions you could take to get yourself in the right mental state to get the right results.
Again, self-awareness comes into play when you want to be really clear what your target audience is looking for. You don’t want to be so vague that you confuse the audience. What you want to set up is that a self-aware entrepreneur is aware of her internal biases, wants to improve her chances of improving results while minimizing her chances of getting burnt again, and wants to be in the best mental state to get the right results.
The problem is that the right mental state can’t be achieved without self-awareness, which we don’t seem to have a lot of.
This is the problem with self-awareness. Self-awareness is actually a way of thinking about your target audience. Think about your target audience and then ask yourself, “Do I want to be the only one with a sense of humor?” Do you want to get in there and get the results you want? If you do, then you’re going to get yourself the results you want. If you don’t, then the results you want are going to be pretty bad.
Self-awareness is a way to think about your own audience, to see what they want and to make sure you deliver it to them. It’s a way to think about yourself and your audience, and it’s a way to make sure you deliver on your promises to your audience. Like any other skill, you need to practice to hone it.
Here’s the thing though. We don’t all have access to the same tools and equipment, so we all use our own methods to accomplish the same goals. The goal for me is to use techniques I’ve learned to give my audience what they need. The techniques I use are things I’ve learned and that I use every day.
If youve got the skills to be able to deliver what your audience needs, that is the best way to do it. If you dont have the skills, then you need to find another way to do it. So you need to practice, practice, practice. If youre a designer, you dont have to practice all that often, but if youre a writer, you should practice as much as possible.
I love working with people, and I love working with people who are capable of delivering what their audience needs. I can say this because I have done it myself. I can say that because I have written about it in this space.
