When we are having feelings that are not going to go anywhere, we tend to want to run away from ourselves. This isn’t necessarily a bad thing. If we can get back to our inner selves, we have a chance of changing our inner landscape, making us more comfortable in our own skin. Our inner landscape is our inner world, our spiritual self, our personal values, and the things that make us happy. A way to get back to that place is to run away from ourselves.
It is my belief that human beings are very limited when it comes to the amount of time we can spend in one place at one time. Running away from ourselves is not a bad thing. It just means that all the feelings of fear, anger, and sadness end up being left behind.
It’s not that running around feels good or good at all, because the feeling of being in one place at one time doesn’t always translate to feeling good after you get back. Instead, we become even more stuck in our inner world, our own personality, and our own preferences.
In my experience, the more you run away from yourself the more your feelings of fear and anger will become, and if you just become scared of running away, it’s probably better for you to run away. I’ve always found running away from me easier, because I don’t always get myself to run up on a roof to hide from a person who has run away.
