We are creatures of habit. We are programmed to believe that the best way to get out of a jam or make the most out of a given moment is to start another project.
This is true, but that doesn’t mean we can’t change our minds. We can take a moment to think, “I’m not sure I want to go to this party.” or, “I am going to do this activity and the next thing I know it’s time for bed.” We can also take a moment to say, “I don’t like the idea of taking this vacation.
