This will allow you to clearly articulate your value proposition in every interaction with each potential customer which helps you convert more prospects into customers faster than competitors that don’t do this step at all or only go through the motions of understanding.

You should be able answer these questions about your market and customers before deciding on a single feature for your product: What niche am I going after? What features would attract them? What products do we have now that compete against
