The German unemployment rate of 25.4% is the highest on record and now stands at 28.0% which is the highest on record in the Eurozone. This is the highest unemployment rate since the Great Depression in 1929.
The trend for the last three years was that the rate has been rising at a slower rate than ever before, with a higher rate of 4.5%, which is still higher than in the rest of the Eurozone.
